I am a writer, storyteller, artist, and chef. In 2022 I completed my most recent project, publishing my memoir, Travel North Black Girl. This story explores my journey of growing up in Kansas City, MO in an abusive environment, to getting married at a young age and traveling to an indigenous village in Alaska. About My Journey
I am a published short-story author and playwright. Four of my plays have been produced and performed in over five states, including New York and Washington, DC. I had the pleasure of being the recipient of the Lorraine Hansberry Award for my play, "Mother Spense" and a runner-up for my play, "The Price of Bail" at the Kennedy Center Regional Festival. As a visual artist, I have specialized in printmaking and watercolor and exhibited in multiple galleries.
I am always open to share on topics that are close to my experience and heart. I have spoken on trauma, childhood abuse, and the importance of therapy and healing. I speak to the importance of Black stories in all their forms. As a Black woman, I have faced many barriers but it has made me a lifelong advocate for the vulnerable and unheard.
